Mr. Guerin has graciously agreed to be our new Venture Crew Advisor. Be sure to thank him for stepping up to this leadership role. With Mr. Shields gone, Mr. Guerin has some big shoes to fill.

Other adults, please note, we need help with other positions also. We are feeling the loss of Mr. Shields and are realizing just how much he did for our crew. If you are willing to help, please contact Jerry Andrews, our committee chair, and tell him you want to meet the challenge!

The 2009 Lodge Winter Banquet was held January 10 at the VSC. 166 Lodge Brothers, family members and guests attended with TQB having 42 members present!

This was indeed TQB's night -
Colin P. received the Founder's Award
Mr. Shields received the Founder's Award
Andrew W. received the Key Three Youth Award
Mr. Guerin received the Key Three Adult Award
TQB was awarded 68 of the 77 Service Hawk Awards earned in the Lodge

TQB was overwhelmingly Chapter of the Year (Third time in last four years!)

The Founder's Award is the highest honor a Lodge can bestow upon a member and represents the total personal commitment to the Order of the Arrow, the Obligation of the Order and our principles of Brotherhood Cheerfulness and Service by the recipient. Congratulations to Colin P. and Mr. Shields - both of our Brothers are fully deserving of this esteemed honor.

The Key Three Award is decided upon by the Lodge Chief, Lodge Adviser and Lodge Staff Adviser and is presented in recognition of exceptional service to the Lodge and her members by the recipient. Andrew W. was singled out for his outstanding work on Summerfest 2009 and Mr. Guerin for the excellence he displayed as an Adviser for Adventure Camp 2009. The Key Three wished there could be two Youth Awards because they were greatly impressed by the work of Michael R. on Adventure Camp as well. Apparently the deciding factor was that Summerfest was a totally new event.

The fact remains that the Brothers of TQB get the job done and done correctly! What an honor it is to be associated with each of you outstanding Arrowmen. Thank you for a stellar year and a 2010 which will be even better!!

FALL FELLOWSHIP - September 10-12 at Woodruff Scout Reservation

Posted on Sep 1 2010 - 12:55pm

Fall Fellowship registration deadline was September 1. If you missed the deadline, we're sorry, but you will be unable to attend Fall Fellowship this year.

Fall Fellowship is Friday-Sunday, September 10-12, at Woodruff Scout Reservation.

Our Chapter Chief, Andrew Weaver, is running for Lodge Chief. We need lots of youth to attend to vote for Andrew. We also need your help to campaign for Andrew.

If you don't know what a Fall Fellowship entails, here is some information about the planned activities:

The theme is Robin Hood (no tights allowed, sorry!). Tights aside, feel free to wear Robin Hood apparel.

Arrowmen can look forward to Indian workshops including regalia making, ceremonialist training, and Elangomat and Nimat training in the morning, and archery, tomahawk throwing, team building challenges, and a special surprise lodge-wide event in the afternoon!

Of course, you will also be able to hang out with friends and enjoy their fellowship.

Lodge elections will be held on Saturday evening, so we “Sherwood” love everyone to come out and make your vote count!

Of course, Vigil Honor members will be tapped out and Brotherhood-eligibles will have a chance to get those bars on their sashes. If it has been 10 months or longer since you completed your Ordeal, you may complete the Brotherhood Trail at Fall Fellowship!

A detailed schedule of events will be posted, if one becomes available. Or you can check the Egwa Tawa Dee Lodge calendar at: http://www.aacegwa.org/events.htm#ff

Family Day Success!!!

Posted on Sep 1 2010 - 12:54pm

Thanks to everyone for making TQB FAMILY DAY a huge success!!!

Great food, fun and fellowship was had by all.

The weather couldn't have been better for an August day in Atlanta.

What a huge assortment of food and goodies. And how about that great chicken cooked up by Mr. Ski! Delicious! Many thanks to all who came and to those of you who helped plan and execute this low-key, family friendly event. Also, thanks to Norcross Presbyterian Church for providing the facilities.

It also was nice to see so many of our Scouts and adult volunteers be recognized for all the hard work they do throughout the year. Thanks to all!

This is an annual event so plan to attend again next year.
