Members of TQB who are 14 years of age or older may register free of charge as members of Venture Crew 9236. Mr. Andrews has applications for both youth and adults.

Mr. Guerin has graciously agreed to be our new Venture Crew Advisor. Be sure to thank him for stepping up to this leadership role. With Mr. Shields gone, Mr. Guerin has some big shoes to fill.

Other adults, please note, we need help with other positions also. We are feeling the loss of Mr. Shields and are realizing just how much he did for our crew. If you are willing to help, please contact Jerry Andrews, our committee chair, and tell him you want to meet the challenge!

The 2009 Lodge Winter Banquet was held January 10 at the VSC. 166 Lodge Brothers, family members and guests attended with TQB having 42 members present!

This was indeed TQB's night -
Colin P. received the Founder's Award
Mr. Shields received the Founder's Award
Andrew W. received the Key Three Youth Award
Mr. Guerin received the Key Three Adult Award
TQB was awarded 68 of the 77 Service Hawk Awards earned in the Lodge

TQB was overwhelmingly Chapter of the Year (Third time in last four years!)

The Founder's Award is the highest honor a Lodge can bestow upon a member and represents the total personal commitment to the Order of the Arrow, the Obligation of the Order and our principles of Brotherhood Cheerfulness and Service by the recipient. Congratulations to Colin P. and Mr. Shields - both of our Brothers are fully deserving of this esteemed honor.

The Key Three Award is decided upon by the Lodge Chief, Lodge Adviser and Lodge Staff Adviser and is presented in recognition of exceptional service to the Lodge and her members by the recipient. Andrew W. was singled out for his outstanding work on Summerfest 2009 and Mr. Guerin for the excellence he displayed as an Adviser for Adventure Camp 2009. The Key Three wished there could be two Youth Awards because they were greatly impressed by the work of Michael R. on Adventure Camp as well. Apparently the deciding factor was that Summerfest was a totally new event.

The fact remains that the Brothers of TQB get the job done and done correctly! What an honor it is to be associated with each of you outstanding Arrowmen. Thank you for a stellar year and a 2010 which will be even better!!

Drum Team Updates

Posted on Aug 25 2010 - 2:14pm

Message From Doc Sandlin, TQB Drum Team Advisor-

Great to see everyone this afternoon (August 15). 8 voices sounded great. Let's learn the songs (words AND melody) and commit to a great year where everyone participates.

Welcome to Andrew Robinson on his first practice. Congratulations to Matthew Cruthers as our newest "official" member. Matthew checked out his notebook today, and joins Mark Owens and Matt Mulkey as our newest voices.

Below is a listing of our practice dates from now through May. The highlighted listings are Lodge and Chapter events where we'll be needed. Things get busy as the year progresses, so block your calendars now.

Try to block off as many Sundays as you can until Spring Powwow and Conclave. We need as many folks as possible learning and performing the songs. Also, expect that the chapter will be calling on us more during the coming year, and there may even be a few Lodge events we'll be asked to attend. We'll have to be ready BEFORE they call, as we sometimes only have a couple of weeks notice. Even if you can't make the majority of practices, attend when you can. The more we have, the better prepared we'll be.

Dr. Sandlin
